JUMP TO SECTION:
What Are the Benefits of Owning a Ford EV?
Whether you’re looking for ways to cut down on tailpipe emissions, take advantage of tax credit opportunities, or avoid costly trips to the gas station and other gas engine-related products and maintenance services, owning a Ford EV may offer the benefits you desire. Plus, Ford EVs deliver exciting performance with near-instant electric torque, expanded cargo space in the compartment where the engine used to reside, and they offer the convenient ability to charge at home.
What Is the Driving Range of an EV?
The driving range of your Ford EV will depend on a variety of factors, including: the model you choose, the type of battery you have equipped (standard or extended range), the state of your battery, your driving habits, and environmental conditions. See the estimated driving range for the Ford EV that interests you by navigating to the model reviews located on our Ford EV model hub.
Can I Tow With an EV?
Yes! Models like the Ford F-150 Lightning have powerful towing capabilities so you can bring your toys and tools along just like you would with a gasoline-powered Ford truck or SUV.
How Long Does It Take to Charge an EV?
The amount of time it will take to charge your Ford EV will depend on the EV you drive, the battery you have equipped, and the charger you use. There are a number of charging options available for Ford EVs. The fastest are DC fast chargers in the BlueOval™ network or from non-Ford charging stations, which can restore enough range for you to drive the next leg of your road trip in minutes. At-home charging, with options for 120-volt and 240-volt charging, will generally take the better part of a day to restore a full charge to your EV, while the available Ford Charge Station that you can have installed can restore a full charge overnight. Fleet operators can also explore depot charging options.
For more information, see our Ford EV charging information page or contact our team of Ford EV professionals.
What Is the Difference Between an EV and a Plug-in Hybrid?
The main difference between an EV and a plug-in hybrid is the source of their power. An EV is powered exclusively by its battery pack that sends power to electric motors. A plug-in hybrid features a battery pack as well as a gasoline engine, and can typically operate with pure electric power for short distances before switching back to a hybrid of gas and electric power.
Are There Any Electric Vehicle Tax Credits?
Your new Ford EV purchase may be eligible for federal or state tax credits or incentives. To check current tax credit information, visit the U.S. Department of Energy website for federal EV and plug-in hybrid tax credits and Michigan alternative fuel laws and incentives. Or, contact our team and ask about the available tax credits for the model you’re considering.
